In a world where supernatural beings crawl on the underground, not many things are universally deemed unnatural.

The Farewell Ritual wasn't uncommon, every witch worth their magic knew how to perform it; and had a list of names to pray to. Mack had two. A parental parent was a natural, common loss.

An unborn child, not so much.

It has been twenty years, sometimes she still felt the physical ache on her belly. She hated the way she still felt like she wasn't supposed to grieve still.

Nothing in this felt right, the world felt weird, and the fire burned.
